Jess Rankin is a Bay Area-based actor/educator/improviser/all around good time. She even proved that she’s somewhat competent enough to get a BFA in acting from the Academy of Art University. (But don’t ask her for the actual piece of paper because it actually was never sent…) Dungeons and Dragons originally enticed her years ago because of the deep character work that it requires. She is now so in character she can’t get out. If you find her, please help her.
She is a visual development artist with a passion for creating experiences. Anne has always been a fan of role play and fantasy. She spends a lot of time hiking, playing video games, and illustrating. After moving every few years as she grew up, not only has it influenced her work, but it has also governed the ambitions of the characters that she designs. She tries to harbor her characters with a wealth of traits that align with her own and with various cultural influences.
Wood Elf Ranger / Paladin
bio TBD
Aasimar Monk
If he knew his parentage, Burakubuu would know one was a middling paladin with a kind nature, the other a demon, and that both met their ultimate demise after finding redemption that left his demonic parentage in the ranks of the Aasimar. Before their death, they left him upon the steps of a mountaintop monastery. There he was raised as one of their own, but not without trepidation as he grew and his otherworldy appearance manifested. Upon venturing into the nearby towns with his mentors the fear and derision were even more apparent. But he was raised to be benevolent, and patient. He was taught to protect and comfort. And when needed, he was taught to strike out with swift and final justice.
Goliath Barbarian
Torq lived in the mountains with fellow Goliath families. One night not too long ago, a group marauded the “village” while everyone was sleeping, and killed nearly everyone. Only because He was on a 2-day hunt, away from the group did He even survive. Unless they had come when he was awake, then there would be nothing but the vanquished marauders’ bodies. Torq is a mountain of a man. 8 ft tall. He has a long red beard and a braided mohawk pulled back. Sides of his head are shaved. He carries an axe…or axes. When he found the devastation, he decided that he needed to find out who did this and make them pay. A couple of bodies left behind were Drow and Dark Elf groups.
He has been searching for a while now but Life has taken over as the top priority. He is lawful neutral, so when he sees something unjust he generally will help to sort it….or kill the most annoying. That’s the thing, he doesn’t really get into caring as much anymore….just some freaking peace of mind. Deep inside he wishes he had some family or someone to care about…but that is a tough ask for a Goliath, especially one that has been burned. He has been doing odd jobs and privately helps people that he thinks are being pushed down.
Tiefling Sorcerer
Denahi (De-nah-hee) was born from a clan of high, proud Tieflings spawned from Suninga. Hidden away, clan forged their abilities through phoenix and shadow magic. They were often resentful of the outside world and had an insatiable lust for blood. Once she had discovered her divine soul abilities, Denahi concealed it from her clan until the majority of them were wiped out by clerics. She only barely managed to survive by the sacrifice of her brother. Since then, due to her brother’s sacrifice, she has set out on her own to further develop her abilities under divine soul. She searches for the ultimate balance of light and dark, hoping to unlock the potential in Tieflings. She is lead to Ceros by an amulet she was given, too young to remember why.
Half-Elf Druid
Jeidobi is the product of a 10 year long love between a High Elf lady and a Turami Human nobleman. He was at the age of 7 when his parents made their planned separation to rejoin eachs dramatically different worlds. Struggling with his parents divorce for 2 years, he finally accepted their parting at age 9 and returned to a sense of normalcy. Growing up a Half-elf, he struggled with the age old problem of feeling like he didn’t belong; finding himself between two races.
Living with his father in the human world, he learned the ways of Nobles and the City; while learning the teachings of High Elves when visiting his mother during summers and Elven holidays. The life of a city nobleman became a bore. He tired of the same ole routine day in and day out and the snobbish, greedy, self-centered people he knew so well. The city became his cage. Seeking excitement and to see the world, he left the confines of the city at age 32 to begin his journey; Life anew.
Finding his love of nature and animals, he often found himself in wide natural environments; stocking up on items in nearby towns, villages or cities and venturing deep through their wilds for long stretches of time, camping under the night sky for days before finding the next populated area. One fateful night, after a series of unfortunate events, he was trapped deep in a rainy forest; alone, with no food and no shelter from the elements. Just as he thought matters couldn’t get any worse, he heard a thunderous roar from a wild beast. Terrified, looking into the darkness of overlapping trees and branches, he saw a pair of glowing yellow eyes peering at him as it prowled closer.
In a desperate attempt to live, he raised his hands while backing away and saying “please don’t eat me, please don’t eat me”. The creature came into the moonlight and showed it’s form; cougar. It walked closer to him growling, staring with piercing eyes. Trembling with fear, Jeidobi saw the beast before him slowly morph into a less fearsome humanoid figure. Little did he know, his life was about to change for the second time. The cougar had shape-shift into a druid wood elf. In Elvish, the wood elf spoke ” come with me, I’ll shelter you.”
Amazed, Jeidobi followed him to a nearby cave where he was fed. The Druid explained that he’d been watching Jeidobi since he’d been in the forest to make sure he didn’t harm the green land. Seeing that he never harmed or disturbed nature, he decided that Jeidobi was worthy of help. Jeidobi asked to be taught the ways of Nature and ended up going to the Druid capital of the “Circle of the Forest” for teachings. That was six years ago. Jeidobis’ past and his future collide together to meet him here today.
