Eiress Kyne worked very hard to fix Cyl’s wound from the previous day’s Nocturne’s explosion. Cyl no longer had a piece of armor embedded in her side and it had been replaced by bronze armor. GB doggy-paddled to the Goa boat to see Cyl and make sure she was ok. They agreed to head to the cave and Eiress Kyne gave Cyl an eirshale shield. The Eirshield would let her choose different effects and would grow stronger as she did. Finkoo had spent his time trying to create a scaled down version of the hunter’s rifle. Tirah forced him out of the shop to get to lunch with the group.
At the Green Iron Goblin village, Lark got up early at this treehouse in the goblin’s village to convince them to build a cover for the slide/ramp at the mine. Kali awakened next to Primeheart and they discussed what a Nocturne was. They agreed to go down into the cave, but Primeheart would go to the goblin village first.
Lark, Primeheart, and Kali saw each other near the goblin village. They entered the village to let Primeheart meet Boss . Primeheart told boss that Cinderhaven was going to be expanding into the Skyroot Forest. Boss was fine with it. He planned to go extort the city to get compensation for moving.
Kali negotiated with Boss to purchase a property in the Temple District for her to build her prime deity temple. Boss suggested merely renting the building to her for 10% of the tithes she would collect, paid monthly to Patsy.
Primeheart and Kali also discussed the possibility that Primeheart would have to move his campsite. As long as he could stay in an open space, he was alright with it. Boss came back and gave Lark a battle axe as a thank you for having brought so much business to the village. The head of the axe would float away from the shaft as it was swung to give it more leverage. Primeheart was given a “Jaw Breaker of Power,” which would help replenish some of his magical power.
Boss planned to talk to the Council about possibly taking possession of the former site of the castle for a new goblin workshop. They needed more room. Boss also agreed to work on Slide 2.0.
The Beer Forge was absolutely slammed that day. GB spent time with the Cowboy after he gave GB another bone. GB talked to the Cowboy about their mission to learn who killed his friends. He bought the Cowboy and his friend a round of irons.
As Cyl sat nearby with the Eirshield, it shifted into an eye. Finkoo showed up and greeted Cyl and GB. He went over to the Cowboy to try to look at his rifle as research for building his own. The Cowboy described the maker of the rifle as having lots of mechanical things all over his body—little mechanical arms, tools, etc. Finkoo was concerned that the description could be the Keysmith.
The Cowboy was warry of allowing an “amatuer” to build a dangerous weapon like the rifle. Finkoo pulled out a glitterbomb to show his tinkering expertise. The Cowboy exploded the gold glitterbomb on his companion and nearly died laughing. His companion didn’t react to being absolutely covered in glitter.
The Cowboy gave Finkoo a cartridge from the rifle, a pistol, and the plans for both. He also disassembled the gun so Finkoo could understand it. Finkoo learned that the Cowboy was named McHaill / Mickey. He warned that their transaction / friendship would have to be separate from Finkoo’s other friends. Mickey also revealed that he knew that Finkoo was part of the Inverted Cup.
Lark, Primeheart, and Kali showed up then. The party chatted for a while, catching up and goofing off. Ivy came over and slid Kali a gift certificate for a magical tattoo parlor. Ivy also attached cuffs to his clothes, which would let him fly short distances.
Daisy, Finkoo’s girlfriend, showed up. She snuck up to him, and surprised him with a light dagger. It was a one-week anniversary gift with a wavy blade.
Kali went to Pomroy Briston’s tattoo parlor to cash in her certificate. She now had an 11-pointed star on her shoulder, with a small silver dragon on one point. The star represented one of the prime dragon gods. It was a magical tattoo that enhanced her ice elemental strikes.
The party entered the cave system and went down to the crevice. GB and Cyl flew across, tied a rope off, and the others followed them. They trekked further in and found another crevice with one spot covered in spider web.
When Purrl, GB’s cat familiar, breathed fire at the spiderweb, a centipede-like spider dragon crawled out of the crevice. A fight ensued. Weapons stuck to the scales of the spider dragon. It was due to the distinct excretions from its body. It spewed poison in a massive cone. Purrl instantly evaporated.
The party quickly demonstrated to the beast that it would not win against them. Unfortunately, Kali had climbed onto its face for better leverage. By the time that the spider decided to leave, Kali was thoroughly stuck to it. The spider dropped down the 300 foot crevice. Kali, still on top of it, died when she fell with it. After climbing down and putting Kali into Primeheart’s bag of holding, the party trudged back the way they’d come.
They went to the Temple District to investigate the idea of trying to bring Kali back as she was, but determined that it was too expensive. They approached Ezra to once again bring Kali back. The party went on a shopping trip around Cinderhaven, spending 1000gp to get everything together for the resurrection ritual.
Cyl painted an 11-pointed star in white, then red, onto her body. GB and Lark stepped back as the ritual began. Finkoo entreated Kali to come back. Cyl poured white paint into her hands and told Kali that the eirshale wants her to come home. She put her hands into the ground, leaving white handprints. Primeheart dug into the dirt until he found Kali’s face.
“Do you value life?,” he asked.
“Yes.”
“Do you think that you trying to bring back the old gods is going to succeed?”
“I don’t know. I hope so.”
“Do you love me?”
“Yes.”
He covered her back up with dirt and magically entreated the grass to grow. The ritual completed, the grass grew in blues and greens as it lifted the dirt up. It formed into a new Triton body.
Kali’s first word were, “I’m sorry.”
Primeheart kissed Kali, then immediately walked away to find Pip and go hunting. He needed to clear his head.
