This time the group met at the gates of the Pearl District. Cyl had made a note in her book requesting them to do so. She told them that she needed to talk to Tyrael. She suspected that he may be behind the eirshale disease or may know something about it.
After getting to the estate, the group discovered a note written in elvish on the door: “You have been warned.” They decided that they didn’t want to antagonize Tyrael if they could help it, so they tried to use a sending spell to contact him. When the spell failed, they made an opening in one of the windows and went into the estate. Pesk tried to use a locate object spell on Tyrael’s tunic to see if he was in the house.
They made their way toward the basement carefully. Seldanna used a detect poison and disease spell, but sensed nothing within its 30 foot range. Oisin used his ability to detect magic and sensed that the walls were full of necromantic magic. This was a new development. They continued on to the basement and found another note on the open door: “Last chance”.
The group heard rattling noises as they got closer to the door and, when Cyl stepped on the first rung of the ladder down, skeletons carrying weapons made of bone came out of the walls and attacked. Seldanna was able to turn several of the skeletons and the party fought their way through the skeletons without too much trouble. Seldanna heard another strange noise and urged the group not to go down into the basement. The green fluid they had seen before was quickly rising up the stairs.
The party ran back toward the opening they had come through, killing what skeletons they could on the way. They discovered that the opening they had come through was sealed over and had the words “You were warned” written in elvish across the seal. The party frantically tried to slow the spread of the green ooze while Oisin and Cyl broke another hole in the window.
Once outside, Oisin and Cyl tried to barricade the ooze from spreading. Everything the ooze touched turned into bone. Suddenly, the ooze stopped. With a horrid crunching sound, a huge skeleton wielding an axe as big as Cyl stepped forward from the house and attacked the party.
Pip, having been late to the meet up, arrived to discover his friends doing battle with the giant skeleton. He got there just in time to see the skeleton attack Cyl with three mighty strikes that knocked her to the ground. The party of barbarians and clerics continued to attack and heal as they could. Pesk also got into the fray and was dealt a devastating blow. As she was hit, her tempest domain took hold and sent a blast of lightning at the skeleton as she defiantly called out: “I AM A SHOCKER LIZARD!!!”
The group, having realized they may not be able to win this battle, began to try and get away from the giant skeleton. Cyl pulled Pesk away, which allowed Primeheart and Seldanna to bring Pesk back from near death. The skeleton moved toward the group as an arrow flew from the West and hit it.
The group watched as a vortex was created by the arrow. It howled with the strength of a vacuum as the skeleton became compacted and then exploded, showering the group with bits of bone dust. They looked to the West and saw a cloaked figure with a bow on top of Pinbol’s tower. They rushed to the tower and found a note: “Next time, listen.”
Worried that something may have happened to the tower’s residents, the group frantically knocked on the door and begged entrance. Mo let them in and asked if they needed weapons. After her received an affirmative from Pip, Mo lead the group to the broom closet and threw it open. Weapons of all kinds fell out on top of Mo, who tossed a halberd to Pip.
The party rushed to Mo to make sure that he was alright. Mo replied that “Of course!” he was alright and went to the back of the closet to pull out a broom. He looked up at them as he said, “That happens all the time, it’s where I keep my broom!”
